Every time SAoVQ is linked or discussed on an imageboard things become exceedingly shitty for months, if not years, until the DQN leave or a new culture forms. It is bad enough that other textboards are aware of this place but imageboard primaries are the absolute lowest of quality vapid trendhopping niggercattle who insist on treating this places as if it is yet another generic culturally deprived psuedo-social media site. They begin campaigns of trying to force whatever agenda they are currently being drip fed by government agents and corporate shills. They ignore all the unspoken rules and decorum that have been established through the constant use and interaction of the users. You end up with an Eternal September scenario in which the social pressures of the current userbase can not force conformity upon the slathering hordes of DQN that want to discuss which 'hollowlife wud u fug' and if coffee is good for you.
A perfect examples is the troon thread which I have seen kopiped on at least two other imageboards in the last week. The OP of that thread was unaware of how shitty this board became in 2015 when the trannies and /pol/cels decided they would turn this board into their battleground and made SAoVQ horrible to visit for several months. Nor were they aware of the uneasy armistace which has ensued to this day. No one can take it easy when some autist, who is unwilling and incapable of detecting social cues, decides they are going to play armchair jihadi and wage their culture war to an annoyed and bored audience. There are places for those discussions, and it is not here. The kopipe itself would not have been a problem had VIPPER decided to post it in the cringe thread and not to OP it.
SAoVQ functions best when good faith actors very gradually introduce new and interesting users they are sure will not share the site with the hoi-polli. These don't think, but feel how to interact with VIPPERs and are able to contribute to the board without trying to force their indoctrination upon others. Conflict occurs but it can, generally speaking, be smoothed over with humor and nuance.
There are plenty of terrible sites on the internet, why would you want to make one of the few fairly entertaining ones worse?

They are only instantly recognizable to people who are already in the know. Imageboard primaries aren't going to know the textboard scene (not 'community', as 'community' carries a connotation that some find unpleasant), let alone an individual one due to varied and mercurial of textboards.
If you are specifically talking about the SAoVQ theme I know of several textboards as well as imageboards that have had, and continue to, use it, as well as having possessed text formatting for SJIS as well. However when one specifically name drops a place it becomes infinitely easier for users to find a place and then brigade it with their Discords.
Security through obscurity is anything but that yet it does not tend towards mass migration that overwhelms the existing culture. A lone autist may find a place that isn't indexed and share it among his cabal, but the scope and scale is a magnitude greater when the name is flagrantly posted on the world's most active imageboard.
SAoVQ dealt with a similar situation to this in late 2014 or early 2015 when someone began advertising SAoVQ on 8chan.co. Investigations revealed that they were actively posting the address on numerous boards and encouraging people to come visit. Whether this was the action of a bad faith actor hoping to use imageboard users to apply an ideological hammer to this board, or whether this was a sadly misguided attempt to attract new users the results were the same: Years of kusoposting, a significant loss of a number of VIPPERS dating back to the original, the complete demoralization of Halcy resulting in the death of the last iteration, the loss of a multitude of threads with the death of the last SAoVQ, and a decline in VIP Quality that we are still dealing with to this day.
A cursory glace through several of the more active threads on this board still reveals the aftermath of that event. People discard humor in an attempt to spin narratives involving meatspace political and ideological bents. The thread I am probably most active in for this version of SAoVQ, the cringe collection, almost didn't survive its birth pains as people broke character to protest the thread because they were incapable of divorcing their real world ideological stance from the character of VIPPER and see that it was simply a collection of the strange and eccentric comments from the wild world of the deep ether. The Tablecat thread infrequently is disrupted by individuals who, failing to understand the core premise, seek to use it as a megaphone to broadcast their hashtag politics.
Meta discussion itself is inherently not VIP, and as such I frequently have to refrain from blatantly telling people that they are not burning with the VIP spirit. However when they fail to get a clue I am forced to resort to this type of self-indulgent mental masturbation in the hopes of discouraging their behavior. Playing the role of a self-appointed "VIP Police" is never fun but as a famous connoisseur of tables and table accessories once said:
