At my school, we didn't have proper funding for sports like baseball and football. We were 11 when the virus broke, and transitioned over to the online schools. The athletic normies transitioned over to Touhou Project games, and even established a team with uniforms and regular practice sessions. The school's twitch channel brought in serious revenue, believe it or not; it helped us upgrade the school's Discord server to tier 3 which really helped the teachers out. The Touhou jocks were some of the worst kids. The top Reimu player at my school caught me in the restroom at the clinic when I was getting my 5th COVID booster. "You pathetic little youkai," he taunted me, "don't you realize that you're out of line?" That is when his younger brother (also a Reimu player) came into the restroom. "You'll never amount to anything in life. You youkai scum should know your place." That's when they both grabbed my arms and pulled me into the stall. I'd never known what swirlies are. Long story short, we really need to have a discussion about the impacts of unchecked Touhou culture in our post-meatspace world, especially how it effects children. There's a lot of other "youkai kids" like me who were traumatized because we couldn't fit in with the player character jocks. Not talking about this situation only protects these bastards. ZUN needs to be held accountable and publicly condemn this scenario. Before victims of the Touhou VIPs can't stomach their pain anymore and begin letting it all out. In Minecraft.

Touhou is still popular after several decades, all other fanbases die one or two years after hitting a popularity peak helped by the company behind it pumping millions into it.
