HTTP, HTML, CSS, JS are old and busted. BBS's are a bit too retro and gopher is mainly used by pedophiles. So why not try Gemini as an alternative to webshits like Wix, Neocities, and even our beloved Tanasinn Wiki? It's pretty nice for hosting your own personal blogs or essays or little things like that. Even if you don't want to host/join a server, it's plenty fun to just explore and do web archeology. There are likely past VIPPER and future VIPPER who engage with Gemini; at least 3 current VIPPER are "Gemini 'aficionados'[1] ". So, just to rouse a bit of interest, here begins the thread. It's not my job to sell you on Gemini or train you on how to use it. But, there's some breadcrumbs out... if you are a GNU/Linux householder[2], and have any "text" you would like to share with interesting people at negligible cost, picking up a Gemini hobby may be worthwhile.

[1] - Please avoid use of the term "user" due to its unpleasant connotations.
[2] - The terms server, operator, master and the like have similarly been phased
out of the VIPPER lexicon, beginning in the early period of the post-Floyd era.
